Thing to remember is that the Collector has surprisingly low resistances to almost everything, including bleeds, stuns and movement, so my PD would just wreck MAA-Head Guards and/or shuffle Collector to the front while Leper/Crusader spam AoE. Ironically someone above mentioned how fighting them with the likes of Leper/Crusader was bad but that was exactly how I encountered my first ever Collector - and even then it was easy.
